I am a pitcher. I started playing softball when I was 7 and instantly fell in love with the sport. Currently I am the starting pitcher for Nordhoff High School and the Pacific Coast Predators 18U. Playing a sport year round has taught me how to balance between two priorities; Softball and School. Although it isnt always easy it is a challenge and that what I like about it the most.
My average week during season consists of softball, school, and training mainly. Of season I love to go to the beach, go on hikes with my Cocker Spaniel Bently, and spending as much time as I can with friends and family.
Well, I have yet to sign, but I am just trying to get my name out there and update colleges on how I am doing in High School. In my earlier years I would attend college camps such as Cal State Northridge and UCLA and I high reccomend those two. They are so much fun, you are going all day but you never realize how tired you are till its over because I know I enjoyed it too much too notice.
"The best advice I have been given would be to just never settle for good enough, always strive for the best."
I would tell them not to give up. There are too many opportunities from them, so stick with it [what they are doing] and to keep moving forward.
Challenges I am facing now would be the recruitment process, but I am thankful that I have my parents by my side every step of the way.
My Mother would have to be my biggest mentor, she always pushes me to be the best that I can be and although its stressful at times I know its only because she believes in me. My other mentor would have to be my best friend Dani Pulido, we are both in the same grade striving for the same goals, we help eachother out and are each others support system. During high school she is literally my other half, the only difference between us is that she is a catcher and I'm a pitcher.
I am very passionate about softball, dance and music. Kaitlynn on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Gv5g4No5H4A |
